5 on Friday

1:  I will be honest:  I have done almost nothing this week with my camera.  I have not really left the house and I have nothing interesting to photograph here anymore.  Kiera doesn't like to be a model anymore and I have done nothing fun.  Just being honest.

2:  We did take a short walk up and around the block.  It is just too hot to really get outside and do anything right now.

3:  There were some bales of hay that Kiera and our dog played on too.  We had no idea that our dog could jump high enough to get on top of the bale.  We were very surprised!  Seriously, our dog prefers my husband to hold her when we go swimming.  Guess that she is smart and not as out of shape as we thought.

4:  Thanks to a tutorial over on The Coffee Shop Blog I now know how to make my own storyboards.  I am super excited about this!!  I actually made both of the ones that I used on here.  I am thinking about sharing the ones that I make on the blog.  I will have to figure out how to do that first though... I am sure my husband will be able to do it.  He is good at things like that.  He hosts my website and (soon to be) my store through our living room... I don't see why this would be any more difficult.

5:  After gymnastics on Wednesday, Kiera and I stopped at the gas station just up the road.  (It was very hot, no air conditioning in the car... I was thirsty.)  I got her a orange icee and we proceeded to go pay.
Clerk:  I like your outfit.  It's really cute.  (Kiera was still in her leotard from class.  It was not said in a creepy way.)
Kierapretends not to hear
Mommy:  Tell her Thank you or I am going to keep your icee for myself. (I was just playing around... I don't even like the orange icee)
Kiera:  That's okay.  You can have it.  (walks away to look at something on a shelf)
Clerkbusts up laughing That's the funniest thing I have heard all day!!
Am I the only mom who hangs her head and sighs this much?

That was my week... how was yours?

5 on Friday

1:  Of course this week was the 4th of July so I have to mention that here.  We really didn't do much.  No big fireworks or anything of that nature.  Nor did we attend any public shows.  My brother-in-law (he is 9) begged his mom long enough to get some of the smaller fireworks... the fountains and such.  We were over there while this was going on so I did manage to get a few nice pictures.
2:  As you can probably guess from the fireworks photos above, I found something new and fun to play with on the Coffee Shop Blog.  She has a ton of great storyboards and frames.  Something new to play with every week.

3:  Kiera attends gymnastics on Wednesday evenings.  I am mentioning this because this week for the very first time she did a complete sit down, stand up.  This was the first time ever!  I wish that I could have gotten photos of it but I don't take my camera to gymnastics.  Besides the parents are in a room above the trampolines so it would have been an ugly photo anyways... straight down and at an angle.  Blah!  But totally GO KIERA!

4:  This was too good of a photo to not share with you all.  I was going to save it and post it as a project 365 but did this first and didn't want to wait.  I love that it gives the feeling of country relaxation.

5:  I will not have a 5 on Friday next week because I will be on my to Mobile, AL.  We are going on a cruise to Mexico.  Progresso and Cozumel to be specific.  I have never been on a cruise and am super excited!  I will have tons of photos to share though when I get back.

So this week was more talk than photos... boring on my part... how was your week?

5 on Friday

1:  I was sick part of this week so to be honest, I didn't take very many photos.  It has been a very uninspiring week around here.

2:  Went to the park early in the week.  Nothing exciting from that trip except for getting very nice photos of a girl who has pretty much outlawed photos of herself anywhere.  Since I am pretty sure she doesn't read this here is a sample.

3:  Boiling mint leaves in the house makes it smell wonderful.  The real thing is better than any candle.  Hmmm... wonder if boiling would work with honeysuckle.  My fave!

4:  Earlier this week (in a 365) I explained Kiera and Alana's game of fetch.  (see 28/365)  This is a better depiction of that game.

5:  Had my camera in the bathroom for Kiera's bath Thursday.  Her aunt Caley was in there to help.  There was a lot of spiking and mowhawking.  Then I found some old kids sunglasses.
Oh yea... and the stuff on her face are kiss marks.  She wanted kisses all over her face.  So she got lipgloss kisses.

That was my week... Hope yours was more interesting.

5 on Friday

1:  This week we went to the beach.
Okay, you caught me.  We didn't really go to the beach.  We live in a completely land-locked state.  No beaches near us.  Kiera and I just played in the driveway with the water hose.  Not quite as exciting, I know.

2:  We did go to the lake though.  We literally got there at sunset.  This gave me the opportunity to try something new.  Silhouettes.
3:  Can laundry be dramatic?  It isn't even MY laundry... and it is no where near finished.  Probably another 3 days of washing. *sigh*
4:  I love the actions by The Coffee Shop Blog!  They have some great ones and they are all free!  LOVE IT!
5:  An idea for a really cool picture entered my mind the other day.  Camera + Cheerleader = really neat motion photo.
FAIL!
Believe it or not there is a cheerleader stunting all the way across the yard in this photo.  I couldn't see her either.  It was a good idea... guess I need to study on it a little.  I did manage to get some good flip pictures though.

Kiera is a cheerleader in training.  Her aunt is teaching her how to be a flyer.  Of course, her daddy has been training her for this since she was 6 months old.
There must have been a bird.

That was my week... how was yours?

5 on Friday

1:  I was able to put Kiera's hair into two even non-bubbled pigtails this week.  This is a big deal for me!  I knew that I needed to document it.  Of course, they were on the 3 year old who has decided that she no longer wants her photo taken.

She thinks that she is so funny.  I am pretty sure that she was crossing her eyes.
I had to tell her to pull pieces off the tree to keep her distracted.  Bribery doesn't work but destruction does... who knew!

2:  We went to the park the same day.  Same pigtails, different clothing choices.  If it is dangerous you had better believe that she is there doing it.

Go FASTER!!!

Can't do anything the easy way...

3:  I am almost finished editing the photos that I took at the Botanical Gardens annual cocktail party last week.  I knew that I took bunches of pictures but good grief!

4:  Last summer the neighbors and ourselves made a home-made slip-and-slide in the front yard.  We tried it again the other day... Didn't work quite as well.  My sister-in-law had to throw Kiera down the hill.  (The tall grass is still on the neighbor's side)

5: If you read my Project 365 then you already know that we all went to my sister's house this week.  I got some touching pictures of Kiera and her cousins.
The dark haired little girl is a very good jumper for a two year old... but with two older brothers it is sink or swim.
And finally one with cool Kiera hair!
That was my week... how did your week go?

5 on Friday

1:  I need a new model.  Since I am just learning many of the settings on my camera I need a subject to photograph.  My logical choice is always Kiera.  Unfortunately, she is 3 and looses interest in posing long before I have figured out what I am trying to figure.  Obviously.

2: Kiera has now evolved past loosing interest in posing as my model.  She yelled at me... Actually YELLED at me to stop taking her picture!  I even tried to bribe her... didn't work.

3: Most kids play in the sprinklers.  My daughter drinks from them.

4:  This has to be the best thing that happened to me this week.  Kiera is always a blessing... but this was pretty cool too!  I was an official sponsor!

5:  Finding five things to write about should be easier than this.  Honestly, I forgot that it was Friday.  This is going to take practice.  Please don't hold it against me.
